Easy Ways to Upgrade Your Patio for Christmas Fun

Easy Ways to Upgrade Your Patio for Christmas Fun

For most of us, winter is the time to hibernate in the great indoors and enjoy fun and games on cozy blankets. However, this is also the time when exterior spaces tend to take a backseat, giving priority to the living room for the Christmas holidays.

Just like pumpkins in the fall and flowers in the spring, your patio also needs a decor makeover for a fun way to celebrate the season by welcoming the guests with a festive hello when they drop in.

Whether you have a small porch or a sprawling outdoor space here are some Christmas decorating ideas that can transform your outdoor space into an enchanting winter wonderland and help spread some holiday cheer.

Incorporate lots of greens

You will be pleasantly surprised how two holly plants and their red berries can add fun and pop to the steps leading to a patio. To add texture, choose a garland with a mix of pine, cedar, or even olive leaves. Complement this simple look with terracotta and wood planters holding different green shrubs.

Bring the boho vibe

Add some wicker chairs to bring the Christmas boho vibe to your patio, which will ultimately be the showstoppers. Add a cozy blanket and a throw pillow to each chair and drape a garland on one arm of each chair with a red ball garland at the top.

Hang Christmas bulbs

Christmas bulbs can significantly enhance the brightness of your front yard. Instead of using the tiny Christmas lights these bulbs can dress up the patio any time of the year and are a more subtle Christmas decor piece.

Enhance the outdoor dining space

Most of the convention during Christmas will obviously revolve around the patio dining table, even though it may be chilling cold outside. After arranging chairs around your outdoor dining table, decorate the table with green, red, and white colors to give an instant Christmas vibe. You can add a bonfire and barbecue to further enhance the Christmas decor.

Create a Christmas-themed garden

Install fairy lights, and place small speakers belting out Christmas jingles in order to give your garden a Christmas-themed appearance. Hang Christmas fairies and stars made of paper on the trees and plants. Since there is no fixed rule, you can add all the elements that you think will impart the festive glow.

Revamp the driveway

The outer entry points offer an excellent opportunity to get personal with the holiday decor. A simple way to light up the driveway is by placing paper luminaries with candelabras made of used wine bottles and putting a garland made from rope and evergreens in metal buckets. Line them up on either side of the driveway and patio for a fiery outdoor Christmas display once the sun goes down created by the candlelit wine bottles.

Elevate outdoor furniture

Dress up your outdoor furniture with throws to let the Christmas guests know you care for their comfort. Add lights and lanterns to give a bright look to your outdoor space.
