As the trio of the most highly paid soccer players in the world, most of us are instantly familiar with the names of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Neymar. Their success on the field is unrivalled, and being at the top of their game, that brings opportunities to settle in some of the most amazing properties.
Lionel Messi
FC Barcelona forward Lionel Messi is arguably the most famous player on the planet, with legions of adoring fans around the world. Habitually tipped as the soccer betting favorite to top the scoring charts in Spain (this year, he’s 5/6 favourite), the 33-year-old values his family life and privacy, which is why nobody is entirely sure how many properties he owns.
Nevertheless, both Lionel and his wife Antonela often share images of their home via Instagram, giving adoring fans a glimpse into their daily lives. Located in the coastal town of Castelldefels, just a short drive southwest of Barcelona city, the Messi family home enjoys a hilltop location, boasting spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and coastline.
Originally purchased in 2009 for around $2 million, the Messi family has reportedly spent a further $7 million remodeling the home to suit their tastes.
Cristiano Ronaldo
Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo appears to have a passion for bricks and mortar, as the proud owner of several fabulous homes around Europe. This fabulously wealthy player has also invested in the hospitality industry, launching his own branded Pestana CR7 luxury hotels in Lisbon and Funchal, with more planned in the coming years.
That’s probably why 36-year-old Cristiano also owns a Gulfstream G650 private jet, which can transport him swiftly to any of his amazing abodes in style. One of his more recent acquisitions was the purchase of a sumptuous four-bedroom villa in Marbella, Spain. It is not a bad choice of location, having also bought a $7 million yacht for cruising around the Mediterranean.
Many rich and famous people have second homes in Marbella, including other sporting stars. Apparently, Cristiano’s next-door neighbor here is famed UFC brawler Conor McGregor.
Neymar
Few cities in the world capture the imagination quite like Paris, France, thanks to this being a city filled with arts and culture. Architectural wonders also attract millions of visitors each year, although some will undoubtedly be there to watch Brazilian superstar Neymar, who plays for the Paris Saint-Germain soccer team.
Nestling amongst beautifully tented grounds in the western Parisian suburb of Boigival, the five-storey home of 28-year-old Neymar was originally built in the 1950s, although it now contains all the mod-cons a modern footballer could possibly wish for. What’s more, this mansion is conveniently located just a few kilometres from the PSG training complex.
Neymar frequently shares videos and images of his fabulous home, whether it’s relaxing in the jacuzzi with friends, or playing video games on a giant screen in one of several huge lounges.
Stadium Fillers
Considering the fact that all three of these players can easily fill any stadium around the world, it’s no surprise they’re able to enjoy all the trappings of success that have accompanied their illustrious careers. All three players came from humble backgrounds and put in years of dedication to get where they are today. That’s why it’s hard to deny they have earned their wealth and these amazing abodes.
