What makes your heartbeat faster? Itโs one of the first questions Marcus asks every client.
For two former oil industry executives, the answer was realized in a curated union of French modernism meets contemporary design. In the midst of remodeling a historic home in a gated Houston neighborhood, the couple opted for a move skyward to a light-filled perch in one of the cityโs newer high-rise buildings.
โWe went from a massive historic project to a glass box,โ says Mohon. โOur first challenge was to reorient the rooms for their lifestyle.โ This meant tearing down walls in the bedrooms and baths to create progression in the floor plan, while combining materials that would be both elegant and livable.
