Created as a lush natural garden within the city, the Meera Sky Garden House is located in an ultra-exclusive luxury housing estate on the island of Sentosa adjacent to Singapore. Renowned as Singapore’s Monte Carlo and touted as one of the world’s most desired addresses, Sentosa Island is a prestigious luxury waterfront enclave known as a haven for Billionaires.
It is here where you will find that ordinary mansions are measured by extraordinary architecture. Thus, the strategy with the Meera Sky Garden House was to build a residence like no other. The result was a structure worthy of its location with a resolute natural verdant roof garden design that was created with a central light and stair well which would funnel the sea breeze through the centre of the building. The front and rear of the building meanwhile, terrace back allowing each story to have visual or actual access to greenery.
The intention was to allow each roof garden terrace to provide a base for the story above with a layered effect to make each story feel like it was a single storey dwelling sitting in a garden with light filtering through a pool down to the subterranean level. The result is a large multi layered four storey residence that breaks down the volumes into human scale spaces with interaction between gardens, water and greenery at all levels.
