A functional take on modern architecture, the crisp clean design of this concrete and glass luxury home stands above all others in the exclusive Bird Streets of Los Angeles with a distinctive L-shaped exterior laden with geometric louvers that add a dramatic architectural vibrancy to the residence. Deftly executed and masterfully created, this luxury residence is secretly tucked away towards the back of its hillside lot, providing striking panoramic views over the infinity pool out across the Hollywood Hills.
Cut into the hillside with large concrete retaining walls that are expressed through the interior of the residence, the home emerges from the basement with two additional levels of shiny white luxury. The custom homes 24’ wide and 200’ long L-shaped structure includes a main level that includes the kitchen, living and dining areas. The second level houses the bedrooms and private master suite. There are intentionally no deep spaces within the structure so that light floods in from all sides giving the home quite a beautiful feeling of openness.
Throughout the design, the informed consent was as if there was a notion that the exterior walls would remain sacred, thus the interior walls never actually touch or engage the exterior walls. So, in essence the walls float in plan, and the view lanes created, connect one space to the other. The purity of the design creates an architectural vocabulary that completes a seamless transition between the homes interior and exterior spaces delivering a sensational contemporary urban design that is sure to remain timeless.
